SUNNY UPDATE!!
Sunny went in for a recheck this past week, and he passed the urinary stone he had!! That means he can officially go up for adoption. He does have a small bump where he got his rabies vaccine last month, but the vet thinks it’s just a small tissue reaction. She isn’t concerned unless it is still there in a few months or if it grows. Sunny has officially survived an emergency cystotomy and unblocking, 2 hospitalizations, and a dental with teeth extractions. This little man has been through a lot and he is thriving now with a beautiful coat and gaining weight. He is currently on a strict diet of urinary food as well as methenamine twice daily to help prevent him from getting UTIs (as he is prone to them), but other than that he is fully ready for a new family! He is good with kids, cats and even DOGS which we all know is rare for a kitty!
Unfortunately, we still have about 1000 dollars left to pay off between all of his bills. We are really struggling between this large bill on top of Sunny’s monthly food and medication costs. We have Bob and Professor Catnip in our hospice program, as well as a few other cats with ongoing medical issues that are not ready for adoption yet. We currently cannot afford to take on any new cats at the moment without your help and we are struggling to stay open. You can donate below or at our PayPal unitedpawsrescueinc@gmail.com Link in our bio
Please help us stay open for intake during this upcoming #givingtuesday

Trailer park update! Right before the hurricane we squeezed the last remaining adoptable cat from the trailer park in Tampa into foster care so he would be safe from the storm. His name is Freddie and he’s only about a year or two old. He is an absolute sweetheart who was dumped there about a year ago and has been waiting patiently for his chance to be brought inside like everyone else. He didn’t even mind us giving him a bath and he will be adoptable soon!
The flooding in the trailer park was devastating, with over 5 feet of water. Many of the cats there still haven’t returned and we are hopeful they are ok. There were still 1 or 2 cats there that the cats feeder was working on socializing so we could bring them inside as well, one of which she thought might be blind. He has not been seen yet after the storm. 💔 We are thankful though to everyone that we have officially been able to save 18 cats from this trailer park counting Freddie since we started there. That’s 18 cats that didn’t have to suffer outside or potentially die being hit by debris or drowning in the flooding during this hurricane. We couldn’t have made such a huge difference without our entire community’s support!

🚨🚨🚨EMERGENCY DONATIONS NEEDED!!
A few days ago, we got a call from a friend of the rescue whose 10 year old cat (Sunny) had been straining to urinate and nothing was coming out. Sunny had a history of blockage so we knew this was a massive emergency and could not wait until the morning. Unfortunately, Sunny’s family had nowhere near the funds that would be needed to handle what Sunny was going to need so they chose to surrender him to us so he could get the care he needed.
We rushed him to the ER where he was immediately unblocked and where they also found that his bladder was FILLED with nasty sharp stones. He had to have emergency surgery to remove the stones that were blocking his bladder. Pictured below are the stones (most of which were bigger and broke apart when cleaned). He is currently hospitalized as his kidney values were pretty high and he was in rough shape. We are hopeful he won’t have to stay long and that he will recover okay.
The current cost for him to have had the emergency surgery and to be hospitalized from last night through the end of today is 3800. We are looking at a LOT OF money here, especially with Coco still being hospitalized for a blockage as well. We are hopeful we can fundraise for Sunny as we couldn’t let him die last night and we don’t want to have to shut the rescue down due to cost.

COCO NEEDS YOUR HELP!!🚨🚨🚨🚨 Donation link in our bio.
Coco is only 6 months old and he found himself on the verge of death yesterday. He was adopted from the shelter and returned due to getting a urinary blockage, which can happen in male cats. Luckily the shelter sent him to the emergency room overnight where he was unblocked, but they let us know he only had till noon today or he would be euthanized due to limited shelter funds.
We are en route to pick him up from the shelter’s vet so we can take him to ours. He is going to need multiple days of hospitalization on IV fluids since his kidneys took a big hit with him being blocked and they need to be flushed out. He will also need some repeat bloodwork and going forward will need to be on a STRICTLY urinary friendly diet only. At the end of his hospitalization we will remove the urinary catheter the ER placed. We are hopeful that he doesn’t re-block after this, in which case he might need a PU surgery which is pretty pricey.
We are looking at thousands of dollars in expenses for Coco, but he is only 6 months old and deserves our help. If you can donate ANYTHING, please do so below or at our PayPal unitedpawsrescueinc@gmail.com !

DONATIONS NEEDED!! WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP WITH $1700 remaining IN MEDICAL BILLS!
Unfortunately we have been hit with some serious bills lately, and we have a lot of cats in need. As you all know, Linus had his amputation this past Thursday. He is doing well, but we still owe 975 dollars of that bill!
Additionally, Bob, one of our cats we have had a while that we thought was 2 years old, recently had an episode where he fell ill and stopped eating. He is better now, but when he went to the vet we found out that he is actually 10 years old!! On top of that he has a grade 3 heart murmur the first clinic missed and he needs an echocardiogram, blood pressure and EKG to evaluate his heart which will be about 850 dollars.
Finally, we have Brie. She was a sweet one year old cat we took in from the streets and we thought she would be straightforward as she is so young. Unfortunately, she has severe damage to one of her canines with a hole all the way to the pulp and it needs to come out ASAP as it’s very painful. We estimate that to be around 700 dollars with the other services she needs updated.
So, we have a whopping 2500 dollars in bills, all for cats from the street and the shelter that were supposed to be young and healthy! This is a huge unexpected expense and for us to stay open for intake, we need everyone’s help. If you can donate ANYTHING, every little bit helps. Silver, 1 year old
Hi, my name is Silver! I am a super sweet one year old boy. These nice people found me outside and brought me in- they said they think I had a family once that left me behind because I’m SO sweet. I have TONS of kitten energy even though I don’t look like a kitten- I LOVE LOVE LOVE to play! I can even play myself I love it so much. I also LOVE being petted so much that I will get myself excited and worked up over it. Toys and pets are my life.
My foster mommy says I have the softest fur and I am a pretty quiet boy. She also says she thinks I’d do okay with other cats that respect my space! I don’t mind other cats if they’re nice to me.

Meet Professor Catnip! This boy has had an extremely hard life and he has a lot of issues- we need your help to take care of him!
At 12 years old, he has a raging nasty ear infection, a filthy coat you can smell a mile away, and very damaged teeth. All of his canines are fractured with the pulp exposed and he is in a lot of pain- all 4 canines will have to be removed and possibly more teeth. Unfortunately, the doctor felt like his abdomen didn’t feel right today. On xray, his heart and liver were enlarged. We ran a PROBNP test to see how his heart function was, and it gave extremely abnormal results. The doctor feels there is a very high chance he is in right sided heart failure, where fluid backs up into the liver instead of the lungs. So his heart issues could be causing his liver to be so large despite his bloodwork looking fine (aside from the proBNP).
Professor catnip got his echocardiogram and the results were not what we were hoping for. He has severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (thickening of the heart) which is why his heart and liver was large on x ray. He is not in heart failure yet, but he needs to be kept in a very low stress environment and he is not a candidate for anesthesia.
Upon careful consideration with our vet, we have decided to place him into hospice care. Despite having such horrible teeth, he rarely drools and he eats like a champ. He is very happy to be alive and cuddle, and he is a total ladies man even at the vets office as you can see! He loves toys and right now he has quality of life.
This sweet boy was a purr machine and loves all the attention he gets. He is so skinny and beat up from the streets that he stumbles when he walks, but he will still walk over to you for love and treats. ❤️
We have $1300 left to raise for all the vet bills. Please consider offering a Hospice home for him or donation or sharing 🩷

Happy Tailz alert!
Recently two of our kitties were adopted locally. First up was Rosie, a 2 year old kitty whose owners dumped her at the shelter. They said she’d become aggressive and didn’t want her anymore- she was so terrified at the shelter that she was almost euthanized. Luckily for her, a foster stepped up. Once in foster care she calmed down very quickly and blossomed into a very sweet girl! Unfortunately, she didn’t like other cats even though she loved people. Even MORE luckily for Rosie, she recently found a family with no other pets that loves her just the way she is. She is doing great already and will never be dumped again.
Next up was Chester, yet another trailer park kitty that we suspect was dumped there. He was extremely sweet and begging to go home with us. He had been sleeping in the storm drain by the train tracks and he was ready for the soft life! We got him neutered and healthy and he found a home pretty quickly because he was such a good boy. Chester is settling in amazingly well and has a new kitty sibling to boot.
Here are photos of both kitties meeting their parents for the first time and them in their new homes. Thank you to everyone for continuing to support us so we can make stories like this happen. Thank you also to @mrpeanutspetcarriers for donating the carrier that Rosie went home in. These are fantastic carriers that we highly recommend! Happy Tailz babies!!
