At the end of May, a large group of cats was rescued from a hoarding situation. While many found homes, five terrified adults were left behind — no one wanted them. 🐾 Happy Tail Alert! 🐾 From the desk (okay, lap) of Lucy the Kit Kat... Hi furiends! My name is Lucy, and boy do I have a story to tell you! I’m just about a year old now, but not long ago, life was pretty ruff. I was living in a scary, unsafe trailer park with lots of other kitties, just trying to survive. Some kind-hearted humans from United Paws heard about us and promised to help as many of us as they could. I was put on a waiting list for a foster home, and I kept my paws crossed every night that my turn would come. While I was waiting, another group came along and did something called TNVR (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return). They meant well, but after they fixed me up, they brought me right back to that same unsafe place. I was so sad… I just wanted a warm bed and someone to love me. But then… my wish came true! 💫 A foster spot opened up, and United Paws swooped in and brought me inside! As soon as I felt safe, my sweet, cuddly purr-sonality came shining through. I showed them how much love I had to give, and they promised to find me the perfect home. Guess what? THEY DID! 🏡💕 Now I live all the way in Rhode Island with my amazing forever family who absolutely adore me. I nap in sunbeams, get all the treats and snuggles I want, and never have to worry again. Life is full of love now — and I’m living my best happy tail ever! You see, I was almost sent to a high-kill shelter… but some kind humans stepped in and saved me just in time. Now I’m in a cozy foster home in Orlando, Florida with United Paws, dreaming of the day I’ll have a forever home of my own. I’m healthy (just had my yearly check-up and got an A+ from the doctor!), spayed, and totally up to date on all my vaccines. Hi there, I’m Scarlett—a quiet, gentle girl with a soft heart and an even softer purr. I’m about 1.5 years old, and I’m still learning that people can be kind and safe. I might take a little while to come out of my shell, but I am trying—I just need someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to go at my pace. One thing that’s really helped me feel more confident? Snacks. I’ve discovered that treats are incredible, and I won’t let you forget when it’s time to hand them out. I have no problem announcing snack time with a few loud meows—I take my snacks very seriously! I feel most comfortable around other cats. The kitties in my foster home have shown me how to play, how to relax, and how nice it is to have a snuggle buddy. Because of that, I’m really hoping my forever home has at least one friendly feline friend to help me keep growing. I love chasing mouse toys, batting around my scratcher mat, and playing tag with my foster siblings.
