Hey everyone, it’s Buddy here... 🐾 I wish I had better news to share with you all today, but my heart feels pretty heavy. I've been trying so hard to get better, but my latest bloodwork and urinalysis results are still not normal. Because my little body is still fighting so hard, the doctor says I have to keep going back for bloodwork and urinalysis every single month. As a rescue kitty, I never wanted to be a burden, but staying alive and fighting this takes so much. Between my recent check-ups, specialized tests, and medications, my medical care has added up to $1,348.50 across just my last 7 invoices. And on top of these new bills, we are still struggling to cover the remaining balance of over $2,000 from our original $2,600 fundraiser. It gets so scary wondering if we'll be able to afford the care I need to keep going. But knowing I have my rescue family looking out for me gives me a little glimmer of hope. Hey everyone, it’s Nala! I wanted to let you all know that my seventeen-year-old body finally started shutting down, but it happened gently and peacefully, surrounded by the kind of love every rescue pet dreams of. Even though I didn’t quite make it to my permanent adoptive home before it was time to go, please don't be sad for me. I spent my final chapter with my foster meowmmy, Laura, who took such incredible care of me and made sure I felt deeply cherished every single second. I want to give the biggest, most heartfelt thank you to Laura, and to all of our amazing fosters who open their hearts and homes to us. You are our absolute heroes, holding our paws when our forever families haven't found us yet. 🐾 Biggie’s Story: The Gentleman Waiting in the Shadows Hi friends... it’s me again, Biggie. I see them all come and go. Every weekend, cages get emptied, carriers click shut, and happy meows echo down the hallway as another cat finds their forever family. I watch from my spot, giving them a polite little nod and wishing them well. But then the room goes quiet again, and I’m still here. People look at my face and my big old tomcat cheeks and sometimes they walk right past. They don’t know that beneath this rugged exterior beats the heart of an absolute romantic. I don't ask for much—just a soft bed, some gentle head scratches (which make my tail point straight up in the air, as you can see!), and a human to call my own. Our rescue friends even brought in a professional photographer to try and show everyone how handsome I am. They dressed up the room, brought out the good treats, and told me to look my best. Did it work? Did my prince or princess see me yet? It hurts a little bit to feel invisible, especially when you have so much love left to give. 🚨 BUDDY'S BIG BILL & A PLEA FOR HELP 🚨 Hi everyone, it's me, Buddy. You might remember me from just a few days ago when I finally left the shelter behind. I’m such a good boy, and I was so excited for my fresh start, but getting to safety has been a rocky road health-wise. Shortly after I was rescued, my tummy started causing me massive, painful issues, and I had to be rushed to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida. Let me tell you, that place is amazing, but the life-saving care I needed isn't cheap. That first emergency stay alone cost $2,397.00. Since then, I've had to go to two more hospitals just to get the medications and follow-up exams I need to stay on the road to recovery. That included a prescription from Pharmacy on the Park for $175.00 and an extended exam with more diagnostics at Polo Park Animal Hospital for $255.00. That brings the total for my emergency care and follow-ups to $2,827.00. 🐾 My new rescue family stepped up without hesitation because they believe I'm worth it, but that's a huge bill for a small rescue like ours. It really cuts into the funds needed to save other kitties who are still waiting for their miracle. Sweet Buddy Needs Us Now! 🚨🐾 Hi everyone, it’s me... well, my new friends at the rescue are calling me Buddy now instead of Paul, because they say I deserve a cozy, brand-new start. But I’m the same sweet, shy 5-year-old boy who was waiting for a month at the shelter, hoping someone would finally look past my rough edges and the scars from my severe scabies. I thought I had finally made it out. But right after arriving at my wonderful foster home, things took a really scary turn. My foster mom noticed my tummy was feeling very hard and swollen, and it seemed to get even more distended just after I ate a tiny bit of wet food. Knowing something was terribly wrong, they rushed me straight to the ER late last night, and I’ve officially been admitted to the hospital for close monitoring and care. We are still waiting on results and official estimates from the doctors as we learn more about what's going on, but I know I am fighting as hard as I can. The amazing people who pulled me from Central Florida didn't hesitate to get me the emergency help I needed, but hospital stays and diagnostics add up so fast, and our rescue fund is stretched thin. Hi friends! My name is Biggie Smalls, and I am a 6-year-old gentleman who is searching high and low for my very own forever home. My journey started out a bit bumpy. I was recently rescued from a difficult hoarding situation in a trailer park while some kind people were out doing TNR. When they found me, I was in pretty rough shape—truth be told, I was a bit of a hot mess! I’ve had to be so brave lately. I've gone through eye surgery, my neuter surgery, and even had 11 teeth extracted. Afterward, my body was still trying to catch a break as I dealt with some weight loss and sensitive skin. But thanks to my wonderful caretakers, I've had a full check-up including bloodwork, a thyroid check, ear swabs, and all the right medications, special eye ointments, and antibiotics to help my skin, eyes, ears, and tummy get back on track. I might still be sporting a few battle scars and looking a bit unique as I finish healing, but looks aren't everything! Deep down, I am a very pretty, gentle little boy and an absolute sweetheart who just wants to cuddle up and leave the hard days behind me.
